A quote of resolution adopted upon the death of Lee Mebane McCurdy:
“The Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Lockhart, Texas, recognizes always the wisdom, mercy, and love of our God, and in humble submission to His sovereign will, records its sorrow at the going home of our beloved friend and fellow Presbyter Lee Mebane McCurdy, called now from a life of abounding service to God and man to a glorious eternal life in the heavens. We acclaim and extol his Christian faith which sustained him daily in his life of exemplary integrity, kindness and unswerving devotion.
Child of God and child of the Church, he served throughout his life, as baptized babe and child of the Covenant; as faithful member; as deacon; as church treasurer; and at the time of his death, as Ruling Elder and Under Shepherd of the flock of God.
We are profoundly grateful for his useful Christian life which will continue to provide lofty spiritual stimulation through years to come. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his beloved wife and children and to his sisters and other loved ones, praying God’s richest blessing upon them in this hour of sorrow. We cherish with them the memory of his unselfish and devoted life of sacrifice and love in his home. ‘He was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith.’”
