Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Lockhart! We're a warm, welcoming community of people devoted to learning of and learning from Jesus. We hope. You will stop by for a visit! You will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to loving the community around us.
For of the principles articulated by John Calvin are still at the core of Presbyterian beliefs. Among these are the sovereignty of God, the authority of Scripture, justification by grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers. What these tenets mean is that God is the supreme authority throughout the universe. Our knowledge of God and God’s purpose for humanity comes from the Bible, particularly what is revealed in the New Testament through the life of Jesus Christ. Our salvation (justification) through Jesus is God’s generous gift to us and not the result of our own accomplishments. It is everyone’s job — ministers and lay people alike — to share this Good News with the whole world. That is also why the Presbyterian church is governed at all levels by a combination of clergy and laity, men and women alike.

We are dedicated to involvement in the local Lockhart community, recognizing leadership and service go hand-in-hand. We strive to honor the community that surrounds and supports us. We are determined to celebrate all our differences as strength and seek to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth as we nurture a more welcoming world for all of humanity
We encourage you and your family to attend, whatever that looks like for you and yours. Singles, partners, friends, young families and the aging are all greeted with open arms at FPC. Family is where you find and build love.
Children are encouraged to remain in worship for its duration. It’s okay if there are wiggles and giggles from the pews - we see that as the Holy Spirit’s love moving around us.
Our building serves the Focus Preparatory school during the weekday and we are delighted to share our space with young learners!
